"It is memorable but not in a positive way, it was frightening and challenging but true mi know sey mi have mi family and mi youth, mi know sey mi couldn't die," he said.
The artiste has since recorded a song called Mr Death, which gives a detailed picture of the incident. According to Deablo, the song will settle all curiosity.
"The song was inspired by the incident because a lot of persons were asking about the situation, so I thought that a song would be the best way to answer everybody at once," he said.
The artiste says that his approach to life has not been the same since his experience.
"My life is now different, it's like a next chance at life. I pree life more serious and am doubling my efforts to achieve my goals, mi naah leave nothing fi tomorrow because it nuh promised to nobody," he told THE STAR.
While the artiste is experiencing a steady recovery, his problems may not be over because the bullet is still lodged in his body, he revealed.
"The wound is healed but the spinal cord was chipped, right now am walking good except for a little pain ... the bullet is still inside my back because the doctors said they might interfere with important nerves if they attempt to move it at this point ... but right now it's not really a problem for me, I can't even tell where it is in my body," he said.
According to Deablo, the greatest joy was when he returned to Jamaica and saw his family again after his narrow escape from death.
"I felt so blessed when I saw my family because nuff people don't live to talk about this, my family welcomed me, they were happy to see me and I felt like a newborn, like a I got a second chance at life," he said.
Known as an artiste who does gangster music, Deablo says his content will be modified.
"I will put more thought into what I do. I will still do gangster music but you will definitely hear more positive songs from Deablo," he said.
A video for Mr Death is to be shot in coming weeks by RD Studios. According to the artiste, J.O.P believes that the single has hit potential.
"We are going to go all out with the promotions for this one because we believe in it," he said.
The artiste recently completed a single for J.A Productions on the Rum Fire Rhythm and another featuring his mentor, Aidonia, and fellow J.O.P member Navino called J.O.P Christmas.
"Look out for good music from Deablo, thanks for the support and a positiveness from now on, the takeover is in full gear," he concluded.
Although named as a person of interest, dancehall artiste Flexxx is yet to report to the St Andrew North Police Division as he is currently on tour in the United States.
On the weekend, Flexxx, whose real name is Omar Henry, was listed among 14 men who the police say they believe can assist their investigations into recent crimes in their division.
However, up to press time last night, a detective from the division said Flexxx was not among those who have reported to the police.
Efforts to get in contact with the artiste proved futile but his publicist, Nackesha Doyley, said he was currently on tour with Mavado and the Gully Squad in the United States. He went to join Mavado for a show in California on November 4.
"This Sting is going to be a very different performance from me, if a man a guh Sting and naah war him betta look a war, wi naah look nuh war but wi haffi defend wi self," Flexxx was quoted as saying in a previous release issued to the media.
In the meantime, the police say they have tried on several occasions and by several means to contact the persons of interest but their efforts have proven futile. They are now appealing to the men listed to turn themselves in to police personnel at the Constant Spring Police Station or the nearest police station immediately.
Portmore Empire artiste Gaza Slim, aka Vanessa Bling, has reported to the St Andrew North police that she was recently robbed and gunbutted by a man who claimed to be Clive Williams, the deceased man that Vybz Kartel has been accused of murdering.
Williams, otherwise called 'Lizard', was reportedly murdered on August 16. Since then, Vybz Kartel and several other persons were charged with murder.
However, Vanessa Bling has reported to the police that on October 29, about 8 p.m., as she was walking along Coolshade Drive in Havendale when she was pounced upon by a man.
THE STAR understands that she has told the police that the man, Williams, robbed her of her BlackBerry phone and jewellery.
It was also reported that she was hit in the face with a gun. The man then reportedly drove off in a Nissan motor car.
Several attempts by THE STAR to contact Vanessa Bling up to press time proved futile as calls to her mobile phone went unanswered.
Williams was reportedly killed after he was taken to a house in Havendale where he was beaten and stabbed to death over the loss of an illegal gun.
His body has not been found.
Last Thursday, it was revealed in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court that the police have video evidence implicating Kartel and others in William's murder. They are to return to court on December 2.
Shawn Storm was pointed out in an identification parade yesterday at the Constant Spring police station.
